About Me

ChrisSelfie-2014

Thanks for stopping by!

I grew up in scenic Frederick, Maryland, and after a brief layover in Chicago to get my Master’s Degree, I moved to the Pacific Northwest. Now I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

What I’m up to…

I have volunteered for such splendid outfits as Distributed Proofreaders (the proofreading arm of Project Gutenberg), and at various public events around Burien like the annual, magical Arts-a-Glow. You can see a portfolio of my past volunteer work on this page.

I am an enthusiastic and avid knitter and crocheter, posting about such things on Ravelry and usually spamming my social media with photos of finished work that I’m proud of.

Professional Life

Throughout my career I have used a foundation of excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, combined with a knack for process improvements and leveraging technological tools, to organize every little thing and help make things work as smoothly as possible.

My current role with the amazing PMO team at MG2 Design exemplifies this strategy. I do everything I can to wield data analysis, workflow magic, and cross-silo collaborations to move the company’s goals forward for the best–and most-efficient–results possible.

In my former life at Seattle Housing Authority, I am very proud of what I accomplished in coordinating and managing HUD-VASH (Veterans Supportive Housing) and Tenant Protection vouchers (two Section 8 special programs). Working with these special programs were a great opportunity to serve some of the people in our community who are most in need of housing help: homeless veterans, and low-income people in danger of losing housing subsidies.

As the Building, Facilities & Fleet Manager at Merrill Gardens, I provided administrative support for maintenance, construction and vehicle fleet projects, insurance claims, and capital planning across the company’s portfolio of senior housing communities.
